Satellite Technology Keeps Shows On During Storms

The most aggravating thing that can happen when watching your favorite television show during a thunderstorm is for the service to be interrupted. Cable connection interrupts television during thunderstorms more than satellite connections do. There are those times when the signal may be lost for a few minutes during a thunderstorm with satellite connection but not for hours at a time with cable. Cable connections require the actual cable lines to be fixed possibly somewhere else other than your home. A satellite connection is always available at your residence. The dish is located outside and picks up signals so there are really no transformers and cable converters on top of wooden poles involved. A normal rain shower will not usually interrupt satellite television. You can continue to watch any show and know that you will not have to wait for the cable provider to make repairs that in some cases can last for a day or two a at a time in very bad weather. The bigger the satellite dish the easier it will be to keep reception in the home compared to smaller dishes. Also, the better the placement of the satellite dish, the better the signal will be. While any television connection is with flaws in weather conditions, satellite is the most reliable.
